Kylie Minogue goes GaGa as she pulls out all the stops for US tour with her wackiest outfits ever

Kicking off her first ever U.S. tour in California last night, there was little doubt which American pop star has inspired Kylie Minogue's wacky new look.

As she belted out her hits including Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Better The Devil You Know during her dress rehearsal at Oakland's Fox Theatre last night, Kylie's wardrobe looked eerily similar to the flamboyant star of Lady GaGa.

In the 19 months which have passed since Kylie's last single In Your Arms, Lady GaGa leaped from obscurity to become one of pop's biggest names with two number ones to her name and a third top five hit.

While Kylie has long been renowned for taking fashion risks and her eccentric tour costumes, her previous outfits have been eclipsed in the bizarre stakes by newcomer GaGa.

During her final dress rehearsal for the For You, For Me tour on Wednesday afternoon, Kylie descended to the stage on a giant skeleton's head wearing a gold mirrored leotard by Jean Paul Gaultier.

The shimmery leotard looks remarkably similar to a mirrored creation worn by GaGa on stage at the Glastonbury and T In The Park festivals during the summer.

Completing the futuristic look, the 41-year-old wore sequinned cuffs and a bizarre gyroscope-style headgear.

The headgear, which looks like a model of a solar system, also looks similar to a Nasir Mazhar creation worn by GaGa when she appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres chat show in May.

Showing her wild side and perhaps inspired by America's Native Indians, another ensemble sees Kylie wear a feathered headdress with a black corset and thigh high stiletto boots.

As well as her exciting costumes, Kylie proves she is just a limber as ever as she does the splits while being carried by a group of her male dancers.

Kylie's long-time stylist William Baker has spoken of admiration for 23-year-old GaGa, but claimed her unique look was a 'bit contrived'.

He said: 'I’d love to work with Lady Gaga. I think she’s a great pop star. Her look is strong but is beginning to look a bit contrived.'

For the tour, Kylie personally handpicked creations from Gaultier's Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, as well as Dolce & Gabbana designs.

French designer Gaultier has been friends with Kylie for years and created the costumes for her KylieX tour last year.

Kylie has been staying in San Francisco - one of the opposite side of San Francisco Bay from Oakland - this week while she rehearses fro the show.

Writing on her Twitter micro-blogging page ahead of the show, Kylie enthused: 'Greetings from San Fran!!! I haven't had a moment to tweet you, it's been such a crazy rehearsal schedule. All very exciting.'

She has also released a behind-the-scenes video, filmed just two days ago, showing the frantic last-minute rehearsals and backstage preparations.

In the two-minute clip, we meet some of Kylie's scantily clad male dancers and hear from her head of wardrobe, Louise, who is avidly sewing feathers onto costumes.

After her two shows at the Fox Oakland Theatre, the nine-date tour will move on to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, then into Toronoto, Canada, before finishing off with three gigs in New York.

These are some the stunning creations in which Kylie Minogue will grace the stage for her first-ever North American tour, which kicks off tonight.

In a pop/fashion collaboration that will Victoria Beckham green with envy, she will wear an array of costumers from John-Paul Gaultier's Autumn/ Winter 2009/10 collection.

Kylie personally hand-picked the French designer's outfits during Fashion Week in July.

Kylie, 41, who begins her six-city For You For Me Tour in San Francisco, will slip into a series of ensembles and, as these pictures show, sparkle seems to be a recurring theme.

But then she has high standards to live up to, costumes from her last tour, Showgirls, were later exhibited at London's V&A Museum.

These outfits include a sexy silver corset number, a stunning floor-length shimmering metallic halter-neck dress and a slinky short black number with leather gloves and waistcoat.

Team Minogue': Dannii gets a little X-tra help from big sister Kylie in bid to win X Factor.

With seven number one hits, who better to help little sister Dannii win this year's X Factor than Kylie Minogue?

Dannii has vowed to beat rival judge Cheryl Cole by hiring Kylie - one of the world's best-selling pop stars - to help her pick her three acts for the final.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: 'Dannii realised once again that it's a competition between the judges as much as it is between the competitors.

'She knows she's going to need the best team behind her.'

The sisters were filmed in a suite at the five-star Atlantis Palm hotel in Dubai, where rooms start at £1,000 a night.

Kylie, 41, wears an emerald green off-the-shoulder dress while Dannii, 37, wears a floor-length patterned gown.

The last 12 acts - three for each judge - will be revealed at the end of next Sunday's show before the live rounds begin next month.

A source told the Mirror: 'The girls had a blast in Dubai. Dannii is a professional and takes her job as a judge very seriously. 'But it was lovely for her to be able to take her sister with her to go through the decision-making process.

'Between them the girls have nearly 40 years experience in the music industry so who better to spot the stars of tomorrow?'

According to the Daily Star Sunday, Dannii claims she was made to feel like an outsider on last year's X Factor.

Dannii broke down in tears on one of the live shows when Louis Walsh accused her of stealing on of her song choices.

The newspaper reveals that Dannii is once again reduced to tears on tonight's Boot Camp show when her fellow judges decide to throw out one of her favourite artists. X Factor hopefuls have also claimed the show's Boot Camp is 'like torture'.

Stressed contestants were put through gruelling 14-hour days during Boot Camp and some were even asked if they needed to see a psychologist.

Ihr Freund, das spanische Topmodel Andres Velencoso, posiert auf dem Werbefoto gleich zweifach mit dem australischen Popstar: In der Mitte des Bildes lächelt die Sängerin in die Kamera, links von Minogue schmiegt sich Velencoso nur mit Unterhose bekleidet an die 41-Jährige, während sie einen Arm um ihn legt. Rechts von ihr legt Velencoso im dunklen Anzug und mit Krawatte seinen Kopf auf ihren, wie die britische Zeitung "Mirror" berichtete.

Fotografiert und gestaltet wurde das Werbefoto von Minogues engem Freund und Stylisten William Baker. Der Duft soll nach Angaben der Hersteller die beiden Seiten des modernen Mannes widerspiegeln: die maskuline und die sensiblere Seite. Velencoso nannte die Aufnahmen mit Baker "und natürlich Kylie" ein "unvergessliches Erlebnis".

Spanish model Andres Velencoso, 31, has spoken of his happiness with the Australian pop singer but quashed marriage rumours.

"I'm very good with Kylie. I'm happy. But I'm not planning a wedding for the moment," Velencoso was quoted as saying in the Sunday Mirror.

Kylie begins her US tour in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Nick Cave on Avril Lavigne, Kylie Minogue and Arcade Fire

Nick Cave is - surprise - a pretty funny guy. I recently spent an afternoon with the man behind The Birthday Party, The Bad Seeds, Grinderman, the film The Proposition, and two novels, including his recently released The Death of Bunny Munro. In the novel, the titular character is obsessed with first, Australian singer Kylie Minogue, and then more obsessed with Canadian singer Avril Lavigne.

We were there to talk about books, but we did get a bit of music talk in, including this bit where he talks about the two singers, and how they are presented in his novel. He also discusses Arcade Fire, with whom he shares a producer.

National Post: Kylie Minogue is one of two female singers appearing in the book that Bunny has pretty graphic fantasies about. You've worked with her before - have you spoken to her about the way you've written her?
Nick Cave: No (laughs). I haven't seen Kylie for a couple of years. I sent her a copy of the book and wrote her a letter of apology on behalf of my simple character. But I know Kylie. I'm 99% sure she won't be offended. She knows me - she knows what I'm capable of.

NP: What about Avril - who is Bunny's ideal woman, I suppose.
vNC: I don't know Avril Lavigne. Unfortunately.

NP: Why was she Bunny's obsession?
NC: She just seemed the right kind of girl for him to be obsessed with. I'm personally a huge Avril Lavigne fan. I've always liked what she's done and would be distressed if I felt that I caused her any upset.

NP: Would you be keen to work with her?
NC: In an instant. Can I just say something about this? For me, even though it's dark and invasive, admittedly, in regard to Avril, I really think some of the writing around how he imagines her is some of the most beautiful writing in the book. It was a real pleasure to write that stuff. And I'm saying that quite sincerely.

NP: I wouldn't have even thought you would have known who she is.
NC: C'mon, man!

NP: I lived in England back when Arcade Fire's first album came out. It didn't seem anyone knew any other acts, especially not Avril.
NC: If you were hanging out with people who liked Arcade Fire then it's no wonder.

NP: To me, Arcade Fire pay a degree of homage to you. What do you think of the band?
NC: My producer, Nick Launey, works a lot with Arcade Fire. He plays me their stuff. It's obviously very different from the stuff that we're dealing with these days. Bad Seeds and Grinderman are trying to strip things away from the embellishments.

Kylie Minogue played her most unusual gig in a while the other night, I hear.

She was hired by billionaire Tory Michael Ashcroft to perform at his wife’s birthday party on Saturday and David Cameron was the guest of honour. The diminutive Aussie pop starlet played for an hour and was apparently rather good.

Was there wild Tory dancing? What did Kylie make of the spectacle in front of her? I will report back when more exciting details emerge.

Oh, and Lesley Garret was the support act.

UPDATE: Cameron was “bopping away”, another witness tells me. A bottle of Pol Roger for the first person to provide pictures of “Dave” dancing along to Kylie.

Nur damit sich niemand wundert: Bunny Munro wird sogar masturbieren, während man seine Frau zu Grabe trägt. Er hat immer Hochspannung in der Hose. Der Vorwurf, dass der Selbstmord damit zu tun hat, prallt an ihm ab. Bunny folgt seinem Stern, und der sieht wie eine Vagina aus.

Er wird sich nicht ändern. Er ist und bleibt ein Monster. Ein Handelsvertreter, der "dummen Hühnchen" Gesichtsmasken mit Honig und marokkanisches Rosenölbad aufschwatzt. Und dabei versucht, seine Kundinnen flachzulegen. Allen Fußgängerinnen pfeift er nach, zu Kellnerinnen sagt er: "Du hast wunderschöne Augen." Und weil er wenig "reißt" mit seinem antiquierten Charme und der Zierlocke auf der Stirn, steigert er sich in Sexfantasien mit den Sängerinnen Kylie Minogue und Avril Lavigne.

Bunny zieht sie völlig aus. Wofür sich Nick Cave auf Seite 312 entschuldigt. Es ist, nach 20-jähriger Pause, der zweite Roman des Musikers. Cave erzählt ernsthaft. Selten nur kann man schmunzeln. Das liegt vor allem daran, dass Bunny Munro einen neunjährigen Sohn hat. Bunny Junior hat als einzigen Freund ein Lexikon, und rote verkrustete Augen hat er. Er braucht dringend eine Salbe, sonst könnte er blind werden. Aber Mutter hat sich am Schlafzimmerfenster erhängt ...

Immun

Mit diesem Kind, das immun gegen die verrückte Erwachsenenwelt ist, bringt Nick Cave eine wunderbare Zärtlichkeit. Wenn Junior seinen Vater auf der Verkaufstour begleiten muss, freilich im Auto sitzen bleibend und, das Buch an die Brust gedrückt, wartend, so trösten diese Eindrücke darüber hinweg, dass sich nichts entwickelt. Dass nicht viel passiert, bis der Vater stirbt. Sein Tod steht schon im Titel, und im allerersten Satz steht er eindrucksvoll noch einmal: "Ich bin verdammt", denkt Bunny Munro in jenem plötzlichen klaren Moment, der denen vorbehalten ist, die bald sterben werden.

Hat man sich daran gewöhnt, dass hier einer süchtig nach Sex ist, und hat man freudig festgestellt, dass Nick Cave nicht nur in Liedern Geschichten und Melodie hat, bleibt nur noch jene Frage offen: Ob Junior vielleicht doch noch Medizin bekommt?

Der Australier John Hillcoat will Bunnys Weg verfilmen. Eben hat er "The Road" gedreht, Cormac McCarthys Bestseller, auch ein Vater-Sohn-Drama (am Ende der Welt). Allerdings übernimmt dieser Vater bis zum Umfallen Verantwortung. Nein. Leider. Bunny Munro kann Bunny Junior keine Salbe kaufen. Er kann ihm ja nicht einmal in die entzündeten Augen sehen.

Zur Person: Immer mit Melancholie

Die Befreiung Der 51-Jährige, geboren in Australien, macht seit 20 Jahren Musik. Punk zuerst, dann Balladen, Rock 'n' Roll. Die Band "The Bad Seeds" existiert seit 1984. Sein größter Hit war ein Duett mit Kylie Minogue, "Where the Wild Roses Grow". Nick Cave verspürt Ekel, wenn ein Projekt fertig ist. Dann müsse er das Fach wechseln, nur das befreie: Er dichtet, komponiert Filmmusik, ist Schauspieler. Er lebt, verheiratet und Vater von Zwillingen, in der englischen Stadt Brighton. In Wien hielt er in der Schule für Dichtung eine Vorlesung: Ein Song müsse immer Melancholie enthalten.

Nick Caves Roman-Hase hoppelt ins Verderben

Nick Cave erzählt in seinem zweiten Roman vom «Tod des Bunny Munro». 20 Jahre nach dem Debüt hat auch dieses Werk seine biblische Note.

Auf dem Buchcover ist ein Plüschhase abgebildet, so strahleweiss und niedlich und kuschelig. Wer deshalb die kinderfreundliche Geschichte einer sympathischen Hasenfamilie erwartet, nur ein wenig irritiert vom Buchtitel, kennt den Autor Nick Cave nicht. Was keine Schande ist, denn dieser Autor hat seinen letzten Roman «Und die Eselin sah den Engel» (im Original «And The Ass Saw The Angel») vor 20 Jahren veröffentlicht und ist besser bekannt als Musiker, dessen erfolgreichstes Album «Murder Ballads» heisst und ein düsteres Duett mit Kylie Minogue enthält. Seiner Band Bad Seeds gehörte viele Jahre Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten) an, ein neueres Projekt nennt sich Grinderman. Musiker Cave lässt seine dunkle Stimme gern über Texten zu Gott, aber auch zu Liebe, Sex und Gewalt kreisen.

An ihm ist nichts Sympathisches

Der Hase, den der Autor Nick Cave nun ins Zentrum seines zweiten Romans stellt, kommt in Menschengestalt daher und hört auf den englischen Vornamen Bunny. Dieser Mann hat nichts Niedliches, Sympathisches an sich. Als Vertreter für Kosmetikartikel widmet er sich sehr intensiv den Frauen, ob jung, alt, einsam oder liiert spielt eine untergeordnete Rolle. Bunny Munro will ihnen allen an die Wäsche, das Verkaufen ist nur ein Vorwand, schneller den Fuss in die Tür zu bekommen.
Da die Kundenliste nie so lang sein kann wie er kann, grapscht er nach allem Weiblichen, das ihm über den Weg läuft. Seine Sexsucht treibt ihn unbefriedigt durchs Leben, und als seine labile Frau überraschend Selbstmord begeht, sitzt er mit Bunny junior allein daheim. Fortan machen sie die Touren gemeinsam; der Vater hoppelt den Frauen hinterher, der neunjährige Sohn hockt währenddessen im Auto und liest wissbegierig in seiner Enzyklopädie, einem Geschenk der Mutter. Das im Titel angekündigte Ende naht unausweichlich.

Die Erlösung kommt mit dem Tod

Der 52-jährige Australier Nick Cave, auch als Drehbuchautor, SoundtrackKomponist und Schauspieler zugange, erzählt in «Der Tod des Bunny Munro» die Geschichte einer von Frau und Gott verlassenen Kreatur, die für alle Sünden büssen muss. Erlösung vom Sexleiden kommt erst mit dem Tod. Bunny senior verlässt, «vom Teufel besessen», die Vorhölle Leben nicht ohne Bitte um Vergebung. Wie Nick Caves Debüt hat so auch der Nachfolger seine eigene biblische Note.
Der fromme Cave bereitet dem Leser ein abgrundtiefes Vergnügen, tragisch, drastisch und oft absurd komisch. Er beerdigt den Typ Machomann, der die Frauen verachtet, wenn er sie körperlich begehrt. Nicht nur das ist ganz im Sinne des «Scum Manifesto» der extremistischen Feministin Valerie Solanas, das als Einfluss gedient haben soll. Am Ende des Buches entschuldigt sich der Autor sogar bei Kylie Minogue und Avril Lavigne dafür, dass sie in den sexuellen Fantasien seines Antihelden Dauergäste sind.

'CHIGGY WIGGY' ZOOMS UP INDIAN AIRPLAY CHARTS!

Critics pan Kylie's Chiggy Wiggy song

The much-hyped Kylie Minogue number, Chiggy Wiggy in Blue, has backfired for filmmakers.

Critics, media, bloggers and music lovers alike have expressed their dislike for the song, for which the western pop diva was paid Rs 5.5 crore.

Apart from snubbing the A. R. Rahman- composed song, a UK- based publication called The London Paper goes a step ahead in claiming that the film "is in danger of flopping". The newspaper says: "To start with, the song has a ridiculous title - chiggy wiggy. It's an absolute stinker. From the ridiculous lyrics to the lacklustre melodies, this song is rubbish on many levels."

Kylie's hefty pay cheque for the six-minute gig marked the highest price paid to any star in an item number in Bollywood. The Australian pop diva's glamour doesn't seem to have impressed Bollywood fans and music experts.

"It's all just a little too weird. Her performance is at best awkward, Bgrade 'urban' reinterpretation of Moulin Rouge, and the dog-panting dance moves are tragic," writes Bradley Stern on muumuse.com. Kylie, on her part, is elated with the number. The pop star claims on Twitter that "A. R. Rahman's soundtrack for the Bollywood film Blue is No. 1 on Indian charts. Congrats!! Chiggy Wiggy with myself and Sonu Nigam." An excited Kylie has in fact also uploaded a video on the making of the song on her Twitter profile.

Critics, however, don't share a similar opinion. Many feel Kylie has been wasted. "Rahman has composed some amazing songs during his career, but this (number) certainly isn't one of them," writes The London Paper. Early Indian reviewers too haven't been very positive. Radioandmusic. com states that "Chiggy Wiggy is great until the Indian angle comes in. After that, it's a tasteless hotchpotch." Another popular portal, Bollywoodhungama.

com , says the number is a "departure from a Rahman composition". It further adds that "the moment Sonu Nigam takes over the song with bhangra beats, the result turns out to be messy". The buzz is that Blue, costing around Rs 70-crore, is over budget and the trade wasn't too bullish about the film till long ago. In fact, Blue, scheduled to open in Diwali, was struggling to find a distributor till recently.

Dannii Minogue. Jahrelang ließ sie sich das Nervengift Botox spritzen.

Botox-Beichte von Kylie Minogues (41) jüngerer Schwester Dannii (37). Jahrelang spritzte sich die schöne Australierin das Falten glättende Nervengift. Einer der Auslöser: die Belastung durch die Brustkrebsdiagnose ihrer Schwester im Mai 2005.

„Meine Schwester war krank, dann starb auch noch mein bester Freund – es war, als würde mich eine Welle überrollen“, erzählte Dannii Minogue der britischen Zeitung „The Sun“ in einem exklusiven Interview. „Ich konnte mit dem ganzen Stress nicht umgehen, konnte mein eigenes Gesicht nicht mehr ertragen.“

Die Folge: starke Depressionen. Die Sängerin fing an, sich das Nervengift Botox spritzen zu lassen. „Zuerst probierte ich es nur zum Spaß, dann wurde es zum Zwang.“

Erst die Liebe zu ihrem Freund, dem australischen Model Kris Smith (29), soll sie aus der Botox-Krise geführt haben.

„Im Moment brauche ich kein Botox mehr und ich will es auch nicht mehr. Das Leben ist jetzt ganz anders“, sagt Dannii. Und schmiedet sogar ernsthafte Familienpläne: „In meinem Alter muss ich jetzt langsam über eigene Kinder nachdenken. Aber um ehrlich zu sein: im Moment genieße ich es, total verliebt und glücklich zu sein. Er ist der Richtige!“

Und auch das Weihnachtsfest plant Dannii jetzt schon. Am liebsten würde sie mit Schwester Kylie und deren spanischem Freund, dem spanischen Model Andres Velensco (31, Chanel, Louis Vuitton), feiern. „Wir sind beide im Moment so glücklich, mit zwei tollen Typen, die modeln“, freut sich Dannii.

'Botox helped me deal with Kylie's cancer', says Dannii

Dannii Minogue has revealed how she got hooked on anti-ageing Botox injections while her sister Kylie was battling breast cancer.

The 37-year-old singer and TV host says she fell into a depression after Kylie was diagnosed with cancer in 2005.

"My sister was sick, then my best friend died soon after - I felt I'd been hit by a wave," she told The Sun newspaper.

"I couldn't deal with the stress. I couldn't deal with having to look at my face.

"It was a personal thing of having to get through a lot of sadness.

""At first, it was something fun I tried, then it became a necessity."

Dannii, who is a judge on hit British TV talent show X Factor, recently revealed that she was turning her back on Botox so more natural expressions could return to her face.

"I don't need Botox now and don't want it. Life is just so different now," she said.

Dannii has been dating former British rugby league star Kris Smith and says he could be the one to start a family with.

"I guess at my age I have to start thinking about babies at some time," she said.

"But to be honest, I'm just enjoying being so wildly in love and being so happy. He is the one."

Kylie Minogue's new Bollywood film Blue is in danger of flopping

KYLIE MINOGUE’S eagerly anticipated $1m Bollywood debut looks in danger of being a massive flop.

theBuzz hears the pop princess’s Midas touch has failed to help big-budget flick Blue attract the interest of major film distributors.

Which could mean Kylie fans won’t get the chance to see their favourite Aussie in action, alongside industry stars such as Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan.

We’re told: “The film is so far over budget it is not feasible for a big distributor to buy the film outright.

"This will mean real trouble for the producers and getting the film into the cinemas they want around the world.”

To make matters worse, Kylie’s big number in the film has also been panned, despite being composed by Slumdog Millionaire Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.

“To start off with, the song has a ridiculous title – Chiggy Wiggy,” said one insider.

“It’s an absolute stinker. AR Rahman has composed some amazing songs in Bollywood during his career, but this certainly isn’t one of them.

“From the ridiculous lyrics to the lacklustre melodies, this song is rubbish on so many levels.”

Ouch.

But we’re sure Kylie, 41, will still be smiling – she was paid $1m (£605,000) to appear in the movie, after all.

At the time the news broke, she described her involvement in the film, an underwater adventure about treasure hunters, as “a dream come true”.
