Despite being snapped arm-in-arm with her ex Olivier Martinez this week, Kylie Minogue has denied they're back together.

So with no man on the horizon and her biological clock ticking loudly, where does that leave the pop princess's dreams of having a baby?

It's no secret that, Kylie, who turns 40 in June, longs to be a mum. Last year she said: "Yes, I feel broody. If and when it happens, then great."

She's believed to have had two unsuccessful IVF attempts and had her eggs frozen before her breast cancer treatment.

Now friends say Kylie - who knows time is running out - fears her illness may have damaged her fertility.

So what is the possibility of starting a family when, like Kylie, you're an older would-be mum?

The cancer factor

The chances of Kylie conceiving naturally are lower after her breast cancer treatment. "Chemo and radiotherapy can cause premature menopause in 40 per cent of women," says Dr Gillian Lockwood of Midland Fertility Services. "But many survivors do become mums so Kylie shouldn't give up hope."

The age factor

Kylie is one a growing trend of over- 35s who would like to conceive, even though their fertility will have dropped significantly.

The number of women in their 40s having IVF - using either their own or donor eggs - has almost doubled in the past seven years.

But once you hit 40, the success rate of IVF is lower and carries greater health risks.

Plus the danger of miscarriage is twice that of a 20-year-old, and there's more likelihood of ectopic pregnancy, premature birth, stillbirth and birth defects.

Here are some of the methods that can help older women conceive - and the chances of success...

Kylie's options..

Natural conception

It's harder to conceive naturally after 35 but it's by no means impossible. You can improve your chances by having sex mid-cycle to coincide with your most fertile time. (Chemists stock testing kits that reveal when you ovulate.) You should also be a healthy weight, exercise and take a folic acid supplement.

Pros: No medical intervention.

Cons: You may waste time better spent trying fertility treatments.

Your Chances: "Over 40, your chances of conceiving naturally are only 20 per cent" says Dr Lockwood.

"This is even lower if you've had cancer treatment. Chemo adds 10 years to your reproductive age."

Fertility drugs

Drugs such as Clomid are used to increase egg production, but aren't usually offered to women in their late 30s or 40s as they don't improve egg quality.

Pros: It's safe, cheap and easy to administer.

Cons: The drug can make cervical mucus hostile to sperm and impair egg implantation.

Your Chances: "If you are not producing enough eggs - say, due to polycystic ovary syndrome - your chances are reasonable," says Dr Lockwood. "But Clomid isn't very good for age-related infertility as the real issue is egg quality."

IVF

Fertility drugs increase your egg production. The eggs are then removed and sperm is added in a test tube. Fertilised embryos are then put back into the womb.

Pros: It can work where other treatments fail.

Cons: It's timeconsuming and expensive (between £2,000-£4,000).

The egg extraction process can be painful and fertility drugs can cause PMS-like symptoms.

Your Chances: Dr Lockwood says: "IVF for women over 40 is disappointing if it uses the woman's own eggs. Pregnancy rates are lower and miscarriage rates are higher.

"A woman over 40 has only half the chance of a live birth after IVF compared to a woman under 38. And if you've had chemo your chances are less than 10 per cent."

Donor eggs

If your eggs aren't viable, you could use a donor's.

Pros: You carry the baby.

Cons: The baby isn't related to you biologically, and you still have to go through costly, stressful IVF.

Your Chances: "Excellent," says Dr Lockwood. "The age of the donor determines the success rate.

However, patients receiving donor eggs are required to take hormone replacement therapy (HRT), so cancer survivors will have to wait up to five years following their all-clear."

This is because HRT may increase the risk of hormone-related cancers.

Ovarian tissue Cryo-preservation

Kylie is rumoured to have undergone this procedure, which aims to preserve the fertility of women needing cancer treatment.

A sliver of ovary is removed and frozen then it's later put back inside the patient in the hope that some of her eggs will have been preserved.

Pros: It gives fertility hope to women battling cancer.

Cons: It's a very new and experimental procedure.

Your Chances: "So far only two babies have been born worldwide from slices of ovary that were retransplanted back after chemo," says Dr Lockwood. "But there are hopes for it in the future."

Egg freezing

Your eggs can be frozen - preferably before you are 35 - to be used at a later date. This is offered on the NHS to patients having cancer treatment, and women can pay to do it as a lifestyle choice.

When you want to conceive, the eggs are mixed with your partner's sperm then planted in your womb.

Pros: This procedure is a more realistic chance for older women to conceive, and gives you greater control over your fertility.

Cons: It's invasive, expensive (prices start at £2,000) and doesn't guarantee a pregnancy.

Your Chances: "Egg freezing before cancer treatment does offer a realistic chance of pregnancy, especially if the woman is young," says Dr Lockwood. "But after 38 it's less successful simply because the quality of eggs deteriorates."

Wie der Onlinedienst "ExpoSay.com" berichtet, klärte die 39-Jährige jetzt über das Treffen auf: "Ich hatte einfach nur ein Abendessen mit meinen Ex-Freund... Wir haben auch nicht über Nachwuchs gesprochen. Wir sind Freunde!"

Auch Kylies Sprecher dementierte schon die Gerüchte, die beiden hätten wieder zueinander gefunden. Der Publizist sagte wörtlich: "Die gesamten Berichte sind komplett falsch."

We told you yesterday that Kylie Minogue was back with ex-boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

The pair were spotted on a romantic break in Paris looking very loved-up.

And sources said the pint-sized popstar had taken Olivier back after splitting from him in February last year.

‘Kylie has taken him back - with a new­ set of rules,’ claimed one source.

‘Ollie ahs agreed to try for a baby. That was always the stumbling block in their relationship.’

But Kylie’s representative has now denied the rumours.

‘The whole thing is made up,’ said the rep.

Dufte! Kylies drittes Parfüm «Showtime» kommt!

Anlässlich des Launchs ihres dritten Duftes "Showtime" sprach Kylie Minogue (39) mit JOY über Fashionsünden, den 40. Geburtstag und ihren neuen Duft "Showtime". Vor kurzem veröffentlichte sie ihr neues Album, jetzt das Parfüm und ab Mai geht sie auf Tour.

Fühlt sie sich wieder gut? "Ja, absolut. Aber ich arbeite nur noch 40 Stunden die Woche - weniger als vor der Krankheit." Was zeichnet ihren neuen Duft "Showtime" aus? "'Darling' und 'Sweet Darling' entstanden in einer Phase meines Lebens, in der alles leicht war. Als wir 'Showtime' entwickelten, hatte ich nur den Gedanken im Kopf: 'Ich will diese Tournee durchstehen' (Showgirl Homecoming Tour 2006/2007, Anm. d.Red.). Ich fühlte so viel Energie in mir. Die Inspiration dazu war das Wahnsinns-Gefühl, kurz bevor ich auf die Bühne gehe. Ich möchte mit diesem Duft feiern und den Fans danken, weil sie auf mich warten."

Welches Lied aus ihrem aktuellen Album "X" beschreibt "Showtime" am besten? "'Wow' oder '2 Hearts'. Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich einen Song pur performe - ohne Choreographie im Video. Ich musste nichts lernen und sagte nur: Lasst mich auf die Bühne und tun, worauf ich Lust habe. Genau das möchte ich in Zukunft noch mehr beherzigen, in allem, was ich tue: Ich selbst sein, so sehr ich kann. Keine Angst zu haben...2 Hearts, because I´m in love." (Sie singt plötzlich den Refrain ihres Hits an.)

In wen ist sie verliebt: (lächelt vielsagend) "In das Leben!" Was war ihr bester und ihr schlimmster Mode-Look? "Einer der besten war im Video 'Can´t geht you out of my head' (Sie trug einen weißen Overall, der sehr viel Haut zeigte, Anm. d. Red.). Auf dem Kleiderbügel sah das Outfit aus wie ein Bettlaken. Schlimme gab es ein paar, z.B. in den 80ern mit Radlerhosen und Big Hair (lacht)."

Sie wird am 28. Mai 40. Der Tag fällt mitten in ihre Deutschland-Tour (9.5. bis 22.6.). Was wünscht sie sich und wie wird sie feiern? "Ich würde zum Beispiel gerne ein Filmmusical realisieren, das ist gerade im Entstehungsprozess. Feiern werde ich auf jeden Fall mit meinen besten Freundinnen. Manche kenne ich schon 20 oder 25 Jahre. Wir werden uns amüsieren und Champagner trinken!".

Lucy is so lucky

SHE calls it "doing the Kylie face".

Put Lucy Holmes, 28, in front of the camera and she flashes the white smile, winks one green eye and creates a photo that Kylie Minogue paparazzi would sell their souls for.

Visiting her parents at their Wellington Point home, Lucy, now living in Melbourne, talks about a tribute career spanning six years, which is now a full-time occupation for her, her partner and manager Derek Bailey and a cast of dancers and musicians.

"This has been amazing and the show has taken us all around the world," Lucy said.

"These are songs people are familiar with and Kylie fans get a buzz out of it - they appreciate the detail. It’s a feast of costumes, songs and choreography," Derek said.

"The idea is for people to lose themselves in a performance," Lucy said.

"I have had times when people have mobbed the stage and wanted to get back stage."

Perhaps the biggest compliment however came from Kylie’s parents who have visited Lucy backstage following a performance, telling her she was a "dead ringer".

Lucy has also met Kylie’s siblings Danni and Brendan and been filmed by Kylie’s film crew, but said she might feel "embarrassed" about meeting someone she had "pretended to be" for the past six years.

Trained at the Conservatorium of Music in Mackay, Lucy said she could "sing underwater" and this, combined with dance and dazzling costumes were the mainstay of the show.

During her visit home, Lucy and Derek ran a free music workshop for singers and musicians at the Bayside Community Church.

Lucy also hosts Channel Nine’s late night game show The Mint and has worked as a backing vocalist in The Singing Bee.

She is also a singer with the Melbourne Gospel Choir and has performed with Marina Prior, David Campbell and Natalie Bassingwaite.

Dabei ginge es ihr aber weniger um die neuesten Rezeptideen, wie die Sängerin laut dem Onlinedienst "ContactMusic.com" verriet: "Ich wünsche mir eine Kochsendung, in der es weniger ums Kochen geht. Vielmehr möchte ich zeigen, wie man selbst in der Küche so richtig heiß aussehen kann."

London, Feb 4 (ANI): Pop diva Kylie Minogue has revealed that she would love to do a cooking show that would just be about how hot one can look in the kitchen.

The 40-year-old singer who recently signed up for cookery lessons said that she could be sexier than TV chef Nigella Lawson.

Id love to have a cooking show thats not so much about cooking but just how to look hot in the kitchen, The Sun quoted Kylie as saying.

Sängerin Kylie Minogue plant offenbar ein überraschendes Comeback. Und zwar nicht auf beruflicher Ebene, wo ohnehin alles rund läuft, sondern in Liebesdingen

Steht da etwa eine große Liebesreunion ins Haus? Angeblich turtelt Kylie Minogue wieder mit ihrem Exfreund Olivier Martinez. Von diesem hatte sie sich im letzten Februar getrennt, da er sie betrog, während sie Heirats- und Babypläne schmiedete. Nun soll sie ihm wieder eine Chance geben, allerdings unter der Prämisse, dass die beiden nun tatsächlich vor den Traualtar treten und für Nachwuchs sorgen.

Einen regelrechten Lebensplan habe Kylie aufgestellt, berichtet die englische "Daily Mail". So soll das Wieder-Paar abgemacht haben, ein Jahr lang auf natürlichem Wege zu versuchen, ein Kind zu bekommen und sich ansonsten um eine Adoption zu bemühen. Beides Dinge, auf die Olivier sich vor der Trennung nicht einlassen wollte, von einer Heirat ganz zu schweigen. Doch auch die soll bald folgen. Offenbar hat Olivier erkannt, dass Kylie die Liebe seines Lebens ist. Vor einigen Wochen, als er ein wenig angetrunken war, habe er die Sängerin angerufen und ihr gestanden, wie sehr er unter der Trennung leide, weiß die britische Zeitung. Daraufhin haben die beiden regelmäßig intensive Gespräche am Telefon geführt, bis Kylie schließlich nach Paris flog, um Versöhnung zu feiern.

Kylies Familie soll übrigens nicht begeistert von dem erneuten Liebesglück sein. Laut der "Daily Mail" habe sie fast "der Schlag getroffen", als sie von der Reunion erfahren haben.
