KYA GermanyKylie wants Wellington strip club poster removed
By KERI WELHAM
04.12.2007
PHIL REID/The Dominion Post
HE SHOULD BE SO LUCKY: Garth Rosson from Santa Fe
Dreamgirls with a letter from Kylie Minogue's
solicitors and the offending poster. He says it's not the
popstar in the picture.London lawyers for pop princess Kylie Minogue have demanded a Wellington strip club remove what it says is a picture of the singer from its window.
Sheridans Solicitors said the image gave the "misleading impression" that Minogue endorsed, recommended or approved of Santa Fe Dreamgirls' services.
But owner Garth Rosson insists the image of a pouty vixen in a wet shirt is not Minogue and has challenged Sheridans to prove it. If it cannot, he plans to continue using the image to promote his club.
He said his designer downloaded the image from an internet site three months ago and used it for a window poster. It was not labelled as a photograph of Minogue and he said he could not see the resemblance.
"I'm not convinced, eh? What would a nice girl like Kylie be doing in a wet top like that?"
Minogue, 39, rose to fame in the 1980s as an actress in Neighbours before launching a pop career that has seen her sell about 40 million records.
She had surgery to remove a cancerous breast lump in May 2005 and has since resurrected a career built around provocative music videos and disco-pop.
Sheridans' letter, dated November 22, said Minogue had decided the club should be given three working days to remove the offending poster. There would be no further action if this was done.
By the time Mr Rosson received the letter this week, he had removed the poster from the Dixon St club, but is keen to put it back up.
He said he had emailed the image to Sheridans and would not display it again till the lawyers decided whether the image was fully or partly of Minogue.
"We wouldn't want to hassle Kylie, or upset her. Not at Christmas anyway."

Kylie Minogue to host Christmas show
By James Welsh, International Editor
03.12.2007
Kylie Minogue is to host a two-hour Christmas Day programme on GMG's Real Radio and Century FM stations.
The Kylie Christmas Show will air from 10am to 12pm on the day. She will play a wide variety of her favourite songs, "some just for fun and some more poignant".
GMG group head of music and show producer Terry Underhill said: "When we first had the idea for Kylie to present her own show on Christmas Day, we knew it would be hard to pull off but Kylie immediately agreed and was thrilled to be part of our line up - in fact she said she was 'honoured to be given the opportunity' - it's going to be a fantastic show and will be the jewel in our Christmas crown!"

KYLIE COMMENDED
Inspirational star to head line-up at Brit Awards 2008.. After getting top gong for Outstanding Contribution
By Alice Walker & Emma Donnan
02.12.2007Pop princess Kylie Minogue is set to top the bill at next year's Brit awards - where she will also pick up the main prize.
Kylie, who has battled breast cancer, will get the Outstanding Contribution to Music gong at the February 20 ceremony.
A source told us last night: "It was a pretty unanimous decision.
"Kylie is one of everyone's favourite artists and has repeatedly held her own in the charts in three decades.
"She has also provided inspiration to people outside music as one of the bravest and most personable people in pop."
Kylie, 39, follows in the footsteps of previous Outstanding Contribution winners OASIS, PAUL WELLER, Sir BOB GELDOF, DURAN DURAN and TOM JONES. And she is certain to collect her award in person because organisers have asked her to sing at the star-studded bash.
The Aussie babe is planning a show-stopping performance masterminded by her long-time stylist WILLIAM BAKER.
The source said: "He always comes up with something spectacular.
"Think something highly camp, lots of glitter and extravagance."
Sharon and OZZY OSBOURNE will host the awards.
But "live" TV coverage will have a five-second delay so producers can bleep the couple's legendary four-letter outbursts.

Christmas TV: The Doctor Who mystery
02.12.2007Alastair Smart attempts to uncover the mysteries of the festive Doctor Who special
It's one of television's most closely guarded secrets since 'Who shot JR?' - just what is going to happen in this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special?
We know it'll guest-star Kylie Minogue, opposite David Tennant; we know it'll follow on directly from series three's end, when Titanic crashed through the Tardis walls; and we know it was shot, over four weeks, this summer.
Kylie Minogue will star in the hush-hush Doctor Who Christmas specialBut that's about it: the rumours of a Woody Allen cameo as Albert Einstein might even be true. The BBC is keeping everything under wraps.
So, knowing only that the Doctor Who studio is located somewhere near Cardiff, we spoke to some locals to try to find out more.
Barman, City Canteen, Cardiff's über-trendy media hang-out
'The Doctor Who studios aren't even in Cardiff, they're in a village called Upper Boat, five miles outside. So, despite all the rumours, the cast and crew don't come in here all the time for boozy nights.
'But we do have a sound studio upstairs, above the bar, and David Tennant came in a few times in August to do some voiceover and dubbing work.
I guess that was for the Christmas Special, but I'm not sure, sorry. All I can tell you is, his favourite drink's a pint of Guinness with a shot of Tia Maria.
'You might want to try the St David's Hotel, where, I think, Kylie Minogue stayed.'
Manager, St David's Hotel, Cardiff, a five-star hotel and spa
'Yes, Kylie stayed here for three weeks in July, while the Christmas Special was being shot. And that's about all I'm allowed to say, sorry.
'David Tennant didn't stay here. He has his own house in Cardiff: I guess because he's always working on Doctor Who nearby, so it makes sense. Oh, gosh, I probably shouldn't have said that.
'They weren't in Cardiff much anyway. They did most of the shooting in Swansea, 40 minutes down the M4 - they just commuted from here every morning. Best bet is to speak to Huw, a local photographer I know, who shot them there.'
Huw John, South Wales photographer
'Yeah, they filmed most of the Christmas Special in Swansea. It was all behind closed doors, though, in the empty Exchange Building in Adelaide Street. A lot of paparazzi hung around outside for weeks on end, in a long and tedious wait for a decent snap. But with little joy.
'No shooting was done on the streets, so I know as little as you do, I'm afraid. Except that they used the Morgans Hotel as a base.'
Receptionist, Morgans Hotel, Adelaide Street, Swansea's only five-star hotel
'Kylie used our hotel as a dressing-room, for the Swansea shoots. She played a French maid on Titanic. And one morning, as she was about to leave here for the Exchange Building, she passed through our dining area in full costume. One lovely old dear mistook her for a waitress and said, "Excuse me, love, could I have another pot of tea?" Kylie saw the funny side, though.
'But as for what happened on set, you'd be better off asking at the Queen's Hotel, the pub, over the road from the Exchange.'
Gary Owens, landlord of The Queen's Hotel, Swansea
'The Exchange is a 1902 building with suitable oak-panelled walls inside to pass off as an Edwardian dining-room on Titanic. They shot in there for over two weeks, but it was all cordoned off. People kept coming into our pub, staring out of the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of Kylie - she was great for business.
'But, sorry, the closest anyone came to seeing her was the day the toilets in the Exchange packed up, and the cast and crew had to use our loos. Kylie was apparently bursting, and on the point of coming in, but eventually decided to go back and use the Morgans Hotel's instead.
'Russell T. Davies, its writer and producer, is quite meticulous, from what I hear, so they shot from 7am until 6pm most days. Some of the technical staff would come in for a few drinks afterwards - always non-alcoholic, mind.
They were like MI5, as if under instructions to keep every detail about the shoot secret. Orange juices only for them: they didn't want to let anything slip.'

Long live Queen Kylie

USING sex and reinvention . . . Madonna and Kylie's careers seem to run in parallel lines.ARE Kylie and Madonna poles apart? "Madonna's the Queen of Pop, I'm the princess. I'm quite happy with that," the singing budgerigar says.
Kylie Minogue has always been a classy dame but her tribute to Madonna, as reported in several incarnations in recent years, has the whiff of urban myth.
As Minogue releases her 10th album in 20 years, equalling Madonna's output during a 24-year recording career, she is poised for another grab at the Queen's tiara.
Her latest album X, propelled by the single 2 Hearts, should ensure she retains the prize at least until next April when Madonna is scheduled to release her 11th album.
These ambitious pop survivors have been pitted against each other by their fiercely loyal camps of fans and the critics since the Australian singer started troubling the US dance scene and picked up a handful of Grammy nominations following the release of her Fever album in 2001.
Pop lovers worldwide have traded evidence of homage - or rip-off, if they're of the bitchy fan variety - between Madonna and Kylie. The verbal and cyber debate heated up a couple of weeks ago when Minogue graced the cover of British music bible Q in her first interview for X.
The 39-year-old sported a gold sequined top, which recalled the conical bra and corset designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for Madonna's 1990 Blonde Ambition tour.
Pundits have suggested during the years that Minogue and her team, including creative director William Baker, have strategically recreated Madonna's looks, sound and multimedia moves, making sure that at least half a decade has passed so as to not draw too much comparison.
What probably rings true is that the two artists have drawn inspiration from the same female icons, particularly Marilyn Monroe.
Madonna delivered a faithful tribute to the Hollywood goddess with her Material Girl video in 1985, mimicking Monroe's performance of Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
Minogue's new curly blonde locks were styled into a Monroe-style coiffure for the ultra-sexy 2 Hearts video.
The Australian entertainer's foray into Madonna's multimedia territories in recent years has brought the affinities of their careers into the spotlight.
A decade after Madonna shocked with her graphic X-rated coffee table book, Sex, Minogue offered the pictorial retrospective La La La in 2002.
A year later, the American pop queen sought to reinvent herself as a prim and proper British mother of two with the release of her first children's book, The English Roses.
After completing her treatment for breast cancer last year, Minogue entered the children's literary world with her picture book, Showgirl Princess.
The semi-autobiographical tale was targeted at "little princesses everywhere who love to dress up and have fun".
"It brims with positive messages such as believing in yourself and the importance of friendship and teamwork," her publisher said.
For every instance of her following in Madonna's footsteps, Minogue's legion of fans point at increasing examples of the 49-year-old American all-rounder's referencing of the Australian singer's creativity.
The first and most graphic was the cover of Madonna's American Life album, which appeared to copy a Minogue concert poster - both of which borrowed from a classic image of the Latin-American revolutionary Che Guevera.
Many reviews of Madonna's 10th album, Confessions On A Dance Floor, suggest La Ciccone was mining electropop dance territory. This Minogue had carved for herself with a succession of post-millennial albums - Light Years, Fever and Body Language.
Yet there is no dispute that Madonna burst into the spotlight by bringing the underground world of dance music to the pop charts with her self-titled debut in 1983.
Minogue gets the pop zeitgeist points for publicly declaring her love of Abba on the 1998 Intimate And Live tour.
Who could forget her version of their mammoth hit Dancing Queen, which she reprised during the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games?
Madonna made history when she was granted permission to sample the Swedish pop stars' 1979 single Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! for 2005's Hung Up.
These two enduring music legends appear to be immune to the comparisons and have taken several opportunities to publicly declare their admiration for the other and weave a tip-of-the-hat into their performances.
Online forums and fan sites went into overdrive when Madonna sported a customised Kylie Minogue T-shirt for her performance at the 2000 European MTV awards.
Minogue finally returned the compliment during her Showgirl Homecoming tour, including the Vogue rap and Burning Up in a segment of the lavish production.
But for all the similarities between two female artists who continue to break chart and sales records around the world, when it comes to their music, their methods of operation are poles apart.
Since her debut as a Stock, Aitken and Waterman vehicle, Minogue has served as a muse for the hitmakers of the day.
After leaving that pop factory, Team Kylie sought to work with well-respected but low-profile songwriters, some of whom had proven chart cachet.
Others offered her reinvention rather than a guarantee.
Among those who will enjoy a career boost courtesy of X is British artist Calvin Harris, along with electronic duo Kish Mauve, who wrote and produced 2 Hearts.
Madonna's pop nous has proven to be ahead of the curve throughout the past 24 years as she discovered and worked closely with hugely respected dance and techno producers, including Williams Orbit.
Orbit and Madonna were credited by Rolling Stone with having made the first mainstream pop album to embrace techno.
Since then, her main collaborator has been Stuart Price - famed as a remixer under the name Jacques Lu Cont.
Price assumed the role of co-writer and producer after serving as her keyboardist on the Drowned World Tour.
Madonna teams with the two Timbs - Timbaland and Timberlake - on her 11th album. Timbaland has already raved about working with the fearless sonic architect. However, the title of their first collaboration, La La, could whip Minogue fans into a lather of "copycat, dirty rat" cries. Remember Can't Get You Out Of My Head?
Where they truly diverge on the pop-culture scale is in shock value.
Minogue's clips might draw a gasp from some but Madonna's ignite religious and political debate unlike any other artist on the planet. Rufus Wainwright summed up the difference between the two for many fans of both when asked to rate his gay icons for Observer Music Monthly last year.
Simply, Madonna is the dark force; Kylie is the light force.
"There's a dark force at work here - she subverts everything for her own gain. I went to see her London show and it was all so dour and humourless. She surpasses even Joan Crawford in terms of megalomania. Which in itself makes her a kind of dark, gay icon," he wrote about Madonna.
"I love Kylie, she's the anti-Madonna. Self-knowledge is a truly beautiful thing and Kylie knows herself inside out.
"She is what she is and there is no attempt to make quasi-intellectual statements to substantiate it. She is the gay shorthand for joy."

Kylie song released to mark 'Dr Who' appearance
30.11.2007
The Doctor and his newest assistant given musical tribute
Fast Ood Rockers have recorded a song in tribute to the forthcoming Christmas special of Dr Who, co-starring Kylie Minogue.
As previously reported, Minogue is set to play a maid on the Titanic who encounters the Doctor, played by David Tennant.
The punningly-named group - they have changed their name to include Dr Who aliens The Ood - have written 'Song 4 Kylie: ...I'm In Love (With A Girl In A Time Machine)' which samples tracks by Goldfrapp, The Killers, The Timelords, Kylie's '2 Hearts' and the Dr Who theme tune, plus includes sleigh bells, crowd noise and "rave horns".
However in a statement, the band say that the song's release date is "never" and their label is "none".
A clip of the track can be heard at here.

KYLIE FOR GLASTO
29.11.2007
Kylie MinogueKYLIE has dropped the biggest hint yet that she’ll be headlining next year’s Glastonbury.
The pop diva, 39, has just announced a whopping European tour kicking off in Paris next May - but has left a gap in her schedule on the Glasto weekend.
She’ll play her first UK show in Belfast on Friday, June 27, with no dates until July 5 when she plays in Glasgow. And it’s no secret that organisers are desperate for her to bring the annual mud-fest - which takes place from June 27 to 29 - to a spectacular close. Festival boss Michael Eavis told me: "Kylie sums up everything Glastonbury is about.
"She’s glam and theatrical. I see dancers, lights, feathers - almost like a circus show.
"She seduced me with her Showgirl tour and I’d love to see her do that on the last night."
Kylie had to pull out of her headlining slot at Glastonbury in 2005 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Basement Jaxx took her place and paid tribute by performing Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.
Acts
Now that she’s bounced back, with new album X heading for the Top Three this weekend, I can’t think of a better way for her to celebrate her full return to health. Meanwhile, Eavis fuelled speculation about the other acts set to don their wellies next summer,
"We’ve got seven headline acts we’re looking at," he revealed. "And yes, Kylie is one of them." The reunited Wigan legends The Verve have already stated their desire to headline a night at the festival next year.
And Eavis has also admitted that he would try to bring back one of his favourite live acts - Muse.
They were invited this year but opted to play at Wembley stadium instead.
And I’m not ruling out a slot for Radiohead who are promising to tour in 2008 along with a wee band from Ireland poised to release a new album next year...called U2.

Minogue findet sich grenzwertig
Selbstzweifel
28.11.2007

She will survive
The unexpected staying power of Kylie Minogue
By Andre Mayer, CBCNews.ca
27.11.2007
Pop star Kylie Minogue, whose latest album, X, is released this week.Pop star Kylie Minogue, whose latest album, X, is released this week. (Rick Rycroft/Associated Press) The challengers for the title of Queen of Pop are fervent but few. Céline Dion and Madonna have the strongest claims, given they’ve each sold in excess of 200 million albums. If ubiquity were the sole measure, I’d probably go with Beyoncé, who has an astonishing work ethic. Nelly Furtado has been surging of late, but I question her permanence.
Kylie Minogue’s name is rarely mentioned in such company, and it absolutely should be. The Australian-born singer has had a remarkable run, tallying no less than 29 Top 10 U.K. hits in a 20-year career. Her newest single, 2 Hearts, is a typical gem. Built on a swaggering glam-rock groove, it’s the potent leadoff to X, her 10th studio album.
You’d have little trouble arguing Minogue’s case for pop royalty in Britain, where she dominates the charts (as well as the tabloid press). She hasn’t been nearly as successful in the American market. I suspect it’s partly her Britishness, but also the uniqueness of her talent.
Let’s examine her competition. Beyoncé is a well-known double threat: she can sing and dance. Céline and Nelly can sing but can’t dance; Madonna and Britney can dance but can’t sing. Kylie... well, one could hardly say she’s got a gift for either. Her voice is genial in the lower ranges (her breathiness certainly enhances the effect); but it tends to become pinched, nasally, slightly ducky when she reaches for the high notes. Close watchers of her videos and performances will notice that she tends to downplay movement. It’s not that she’s stiff - Minogue is keenly aware of her wiles - but she’s nobody’s idea of a dancer.
Unequipped for Mariah-type outbursts, Minogue has put greater emphasis on actual songs. That’s no platitude - melody is a quality too often lacking in American pop, which has made a virtue of vocal excess. In fact, Minogue has made a virtue of consistency. Whether it’s mega-singles like On a Night Like This and Love at First Sight or her lesser-known album cuts, Minogue’s songbook is as strong as that of any current female pop star. For her new album, Minogue called on hot producers like Calvin Harris and Bloodshy & Avant, as well as her old songwriting partner, Cathy Dennis. From the shimmering In My Arms, to the sublime Stars to a freaky little romp called Nu-di-ty, X is another solidly tuneful collection; the fact that only two years ago Minogue had surgery for breast cancer makes it even more triumphant.
(EMI Music Canada)
Given her early output, there was no reason to expect Minogue to last one decade, much less two. Her first release, The Loco-Motion, was a tacky dance-pop update of the 1962 hit by Little Eva. The 19-year-old Minogue sang it with winsome enthusiasm, but even in 1987, the thing seemed naff. Minogue spent her first half-decade under the stewardship of British hitmakers Stock Aitken & Waterman. She enjoyed chart success (I Should Be So Lucky, Especially for You, Better the Devil You Know), but by 1993 was finding SA&W’s style formulaic, if not restrictive.Seeking to reinvent herself, Minogue co-wrote songs with an unlikely array of Commonwealth talent, from the Pet Shop Boys, to Saint Etienne to members of the rock band Manic Street Preachers. Like Madonna, Minogue was willing to stray from her comfort zone to keep things interesting. (Her most surprising collaborator was caustic Australian crooner Nick Cave, who was so taken by her 1990 hit Better the Devil You Know that he asked her to record the murder ballad Where the Wild Roses Grow in 1995.) After a spate of uneven material - including an awkward bash at guitar-based pop on the 1997 album Impossible Princess - Minogue found her métier. Starting with Light Years (2000) and culminating with Fever (2001), she produced a spate of hot singles in a style that could be best described as futuristic disco.
Then there’s her stage presence. Her shows mix elements of Broadway, burlesque and more general bombast; her flair for jaw-dropping spectacle exceeds even Madonna’s. Who could forget the 2002 Fever Tour, in which she emerged onstage in cybernetic armour? (Beyoncé stole this act at the 2007 BET Awards.) Or what about her performance at the 2002 British Music Awards, in which she hove into view lying on a giant compact disc?
Given Kylie’s highly sexualized persona, critics have good reason to believe she is more invested in style than substance. A member of the British band Lush once remarked, "It’s a shame she gets so much credibility when there are so many women worth a hundred times that. It’s war-you shouldn’t stick up for Kylie, she should be fought at every turn."
(EMI Music Canada)Like most pop divas, Minogue has made a fetish of her image, but never at the expense of first-rate songs. She’s savvy in other ways, too. Shortly after the release of the single Can’t Get You Out of My Head in 2001, underground producers Soulwax remixed the tune with New Order’s throbbing 1982 hit Blue Monday. When it came time to perform the song at the Brit Awards in 2002, Minogue opted for the Soulwax version - Can’t Get Blue Monday Out of My Head - thus becoming the first pop star to legitimize mash-ups. (The Brit Awards appearance has been expunged from YouTube, but here’s Kylie having another go of it at the 2002 World Music Awards.)
Can’t Get You Out of My Head won her a new cohort of fans. The song was re-recorded by the Flaming Lips, sampled on Kid 606’s 2002 mash-up extravaganza The Action Packed Mentallist Brings You the F---ing Jams and has been covered live by everyone from Basement Jaxx to the Unicorns. Indeed, Kylie is one of the rare megastars to boast the unironic appreciation of the indie set; Madonna and Céline can only dream of that sort of reach. One can even hear echoes of Minogue’s future-disco in the work of artists like Goldfrapp and Róisín Murphy.
X isn’t risky enough to suggest a new direction - if anything, the album reveals Minogue’s own inspirations of late (most noticeably, the work of Gwen Stefani and Timbaland). But like every album she’s released in the last decade, X is a remarkably consistent collection, bound to galvanize dance floors the world over.
X is released by EMI Canada and is in stores now.

Ten indispensable Kylie tracks
Better the Devil You Know (1990): Although unabashedly upbeat, this single marked a shift in Minogue’s image, from jubilant teenybopper to provocateur.
Where the Wild Roses Grow (w/ Nick Cave) (1995): This dark, mournful collaboration with Nick Cave may be the biggest aberration in Minogue’s discography, but it’s also one of her finest recordings.
Cowboy Style (1998): The fiddles and Middle Eastern lilt sound weird at first, but the snaky melody brings it all into focus.
On a Night Like This (2000): An ecstatic club track, this is the starting point of Kylie’s current hit streak.
Spinning Around (2000): As dizzying as its name suggests.
Kids (w/ Robbie Williams) (2000): A smart-alecky duet with Robbie Williams, this song features an absolutely colossal chorus.
Can’t Get You Out of My Head (2001): Simply put, one of the finest disco songs ever recorded. And it’s damn sexy, too.
Love at First Sight (2002): Another indestructible dance-pop gem.
Slow (2003): A more restrained come-on, this robotic cut owes a debt to German synth pioneers Kraftwerk.
I Believe in You (2004): A throbbing, Giorgio Moroder-inspired disco joint co-written with Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters.

Kylie and Dannii Minogue back on top
27.11.2007
Kylie MinogueAfter a gruelling Showgirl tour what better way to unwind than with some retail therapy.
Stepping out of her hotel in Paris, Kylie looks radiant and revived as she heads to the best boutiques France has to offer. Not that her wardrobe isn’t already fabulous, Kylie looks the epitome of Parisian chic from head to toe here.
A long black military style coat with strategic pleats hangs perfectly on her petite frame, whilst her drainpipes cling to those enviable pins. Her black heeled shoe boots scream Christian Louboutin and give the petite star some added inches. Finally, an oversized red and grey scarf rounds off the outfit and is bang on trend.
But whilst Kylie takes some well earned time off, sister Dannii is busier than ever.
Not only is the X Factor hotting up as the final approaches but Danii’s new single, Touch Me Like That, is to be released on December the 3rd. Seeing as it’s already top of the club charts, looks like team Minogue are back at their very best!

Kylie collapse
Fly-on-wall film reveals cancer toll
By Dan Wootton
25.11.2007
Kylie MinogueFRAGILE and exhausted, Kylie Minogue is carried gently from stage by an aide-a heartbreaking picture that shows the physical price she paid on a gruelling comeback tour after her cancer battle.
The Showgirl Homecoming Tour-so soon after her strength-zapping treatment-took Kylie close to physical and mental collapse.
It brought on a serious respiratory tract infection which left her too weak to walk off-stage after her Manchester date early this year.
The star's incredible struggle to carry on with her comeback after breast cancer is revealed in a fly-on-the-wall Channel 4 documentary tonight.
Kylie says: "At that point I was just so drained. I felt like my body was a battleground."
And she reveals how she worried about failing to complete the tour: "We didn't know how strong I was going to be to get through it. I probably could have waited longer. I really just want to get it done-to be able to move on."
But she adds: "In the end it comes down to me - and if I lose it the whole thing will fall apart."
Tough
After the first show of the tour in her homeland of Australia, Kylie realised how tough it was going to be.
"I wouldn't say it was an anticlimax, but I was totally spent. I lay down on the floor and literally felt my whole body sinking down.
"I couldn't even make conversation with anyone. I was useless, just gone," she tells the documentary, filmed by her most trusted aide William Baker.
Kylie's X Factor judge sister Dannii also reveals how she thought Kylie hadn't given herself enough time to recover from the cancer trauma.
Dannii says: "We were worried it would be too soon to go back to work."
And Kylie herself admits the energetic stage show took its toll. At one point, shaky and covered in bruises, she says: "The trouble is I can't really talk. It's just physical and mental exhaustion."
The cameras also catch the 39-year-old superstar lying on concrete floors backstage because she's so desperate to sleep.
Kylie's ex-boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, features briefly. They are shown embracing in January as Kylie shoos the cameras away. Just one month later they split.
But Kylie tells how she found comfort in the dancers and crew members who worked with her on the show.
"It's important I surround myself with people I love and trust, people who I feel safe with. That way I get the best out of myself."
White Diamond: A Personal Portrait of Kylie Minogue will be shown on Channel 4 tonight (Sunday) at 8pm.

In solchen Augenblicken scheint fast alles möglich. "It's spotlight, baby!" ruft der Star.
Dazu singt sie unverfänglich kyliehaft: "Two hearts are beating together/ I'm in love/ Is this forever and ever?"
