Kylie made a surprise appearance at G-A-Y on Saturday evening to present sister Dannii with a bouquet of flowers after her live greatest hits set at the infamous London club night.

Struggling to be heard over the deafening cheers of support Kylie said: "I just want to congratulate my beautiful little sister and wish her all the best with her album. I am so happy for her."

Kylie Minogue told me she's back in the recording studio, working on a new album, for the first time since she was diagnosed with cancer. The 37-year-old singer said she was feeling "good" and taking "baby steps" back into work.

She turned up at the opening of Elton John's Lestat musical with Lulu and Scott Hoffman of Scissor Sisters.

"I'm working with a few people, just kicking some ideas around. It's fun to be working again and sitting down and making music."

"I'm taking it slowly. You know, baby steps. We're taking one baby step at a time."

"It's early days and I'm not sure what shape things are going to take yet. Really, what we're doing is messing around in the studio with different people and seeing what comes up."

"I don't know yet what songs I'm going to sing, or how I'm going to sing them, or what they're going to be about."

It is the first time the singer has properly returned to work after being diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year.

After a partial mastectomy and months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, doctors pronounced her cancer free at the start of the year.

Her hair, which had fallen out because of the chemotherapy, started growing back and earlier this month she unveiled a new elfin-style haircut.

She cut a stylish figure at the opening, adorned with gems from Bulgari's new Parentesi collection.

Along with working on the new album, Kylie's also pencilled in some gigs for the end of the year in Australia and she's said to be in talks to headline at next summer's Glastonbury festival.

She was meant to top the bill at last year's event, but was forced to pull out when she fell ill.

Dannii Minogue has revealed that Kylie was nervous about unveiling her cropped hair to the world.

Kylie sought advice from family and friends, including her little sister:

"It’s a big step for her and she called me to ask for advice," Dannii has told Closer magazine.

"I told her to go for it. I mean there aren’t many people who can look that great with such a nifty haircut."

Dannii also took the opportunity to once again praise Kylie’s boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, for his support.

"Olivier has been a godsend to her. It’s been a long year, but she’s going from strength to strength. Kylie’s back!"

Kylie überrascht Tsunami-Kids in Sri Lanka

Die Kinder hatten stets nur vom wohltätigen Engel gehört, und plötzlich stand er da: Kylie Minogue überraschte "ihre" Tsunami-Theatergruppe in Sri Lanka.

Nach neun Monaten Brustkrebsbehandlung bekam sie im Januar das "Alles ok" ihrer Ärzte. Jetzt muss Kylie Minogue sich noch zwei Jahre lang monatlich Anti-Östrogen spritzen lassen, doch ihrem Tatendrang tut dies keinen Abbruch. Als erste bekamen das laut dem schweizer "blick" die Kinder der Theatergruppe "Children of the Sea" zu spüren. Die 27 kleinen Schauspieler, die mehrheitlich Tsunami-Waisen sind, staunten Elefanten, als sie plötzlich den Superstar vor sich sahen.

Kylie, die Sponsorin und "Gotte" des Projekts des englischen Regisseurs Toby Gough ist, hatte auf ihrem Heimflug von Australien nach Paris (wo Kylie mit ihrem Freund Olivier Martinez lebt) extra einen kleinen Abstecher nach Sri Lanka gemacht. «Ich war so glücklich, endlich die Kinder zu treffen und die Resultate von Tobys Vision und Energie zu sehen», erzählt die 37-Jährige der britischen Zeitung "The Sun". "Ihr Triumph über das Unglück ist inspirierend", so Miss Minogue.

Regisseur Gough war überwältigt vom spontanen Besuch: «Ich habe Kylie oft eingeladen, uns in Sri Lanka zu besuchen. Aber als sie dann endlich vor uns stand, waren die Kinder total aus dem Häuschen. Es war eine riesige Überraschung.» Das Highlight des VIP-Besuchs war für den Theater-Boss, als Kylie mit der ganzen Truppe im Tour-Bus mitfuhr und dabei lachte und sang.

Nach einem kurzen Ritt zusammen mit vier Kindern auf einem Elefanten musste sich die Australierin dann aber wieder schweren Herzens von «ihren» Kids trennen. "Mein Besuch war einfach viel zu kurz. Alle waren so nett. Ich hoffe, dass ich bald wieder hierher zurückkomme", sagte Kylie zum Abschied.

Ob der Pop-Floh bald wieder Zeit für einen Trip nach Sri Lanka finden wird, ist fraglich. Schliesslich plant sie gerade ihre Tour und will nebenbei noch ein Kinderbuch schreiben.
